Huge round of applause to those who took part in this Onesie Day last Friday, such an amazing amount of £2,500 raised! It’s lovely to see you keeping Christopher’s memory alive, he’d be beaming at the banter you’ll have all had in his name…hope someone got a photo of Mr Kelly in his onesie lol!
We are delighted to announce that Inverkeithing pupils fundraising efforts have seen them fully fund the Drop in Centre Courtyard at the new Royal Hospital for Sick Children based in Edinburgh. What an achievement that is. We can’t thank them enough. As always Inverkeithing High pupils do whatever they can to raise money and awareness for The Cookie Jar Foundation.
The Drop in Centre has a team of staff and volunteers to listen to and support families who are anxious or experiencing a difficult time. The environment is a relaxing one, very different to the clinical areas of the hospital with a lounge area and kitchen area, as well as a private room for complimentary therapies as well as a private garden area.
The courtyard will be for the exclusive use of Drop in Centre families and will be landscaped to provide a calming area to sit out in with plants designed to stimulate the senses.
As I am sure you will agree this is an extremely important part of the new hospital for families and we would like to take this opportunity to thank all staff and pupils at Inverkeithing High School for their hard work!!
